Many business owners aren’t aware of the many intricacies of the Arizona Fair Wages & Healthy Families Act, which regulates minimum wage and mandatory paid sick time for employees. All Arizona employers, even those with only one employee, need to be familiar with this law to avoid liability. Participants will learn the requirements of the law, options for designing a compliant paid sick time or paid time off policy, and penalties for non-compliance.
Speaker(s): Presented by: Laura Hamblin is a Prescott employment attorney and human resources consultant who primarily works with small employers throughout north central Arizona to help them comply with the sea of employment laws. She prepares workplace policies and employee handbooks; conducts management and employee training; provides guidance on difficult employee issues; as well as other employment-related services. Her goal is to establish proactive measures for her clients to prevent litigation.
