The most violated laws by employers are the wage payment and worker classification laws, which have steep penalties. This course will discuss the often-misunderstood issues of exempt/nonexempt, independent contractors, overtime calculations for multiple pay rates or piece rates, comp time, travel time, payment at termination, and more. Business owners, bookkeepers, and others involved in paying employees are encouraged to attend.
