Social media is no longer limited to the average college user. The increasing use of social media presents new opportunities as well as questions and concerns for employees as well as employers. Individual and corporate Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram and Snapchat users are vulnerable. Utilizing real-world examples, Lori will address issues in confidentiality, in appropriate online behaviors, and potential intellectual property rights matters. This presentation will assist social media users in understanding the impact social media has on potential employment, termination and overall public perception. We'll touch on the employer's responsibility when utilizing and monitoring social media in addition to employee's responsibilities.

Speaker(s): Attorney Lori Brown As senior counsel at Hymson Goldstein & Pantiliat, PLLC, Lori has over 15 years of experience in labor and employment law as well as commercial litigation. Lori's legal experience began with an internship at the Federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. She then furthered her training in private practice. Lori represents employees and employers in lawsuits involving issues such as non-compete agreements, wage and hour, discrimination, retaliation, sexual harassment, and breach of contract. ,
