Crowdfunding has quickly moved from trendy buzzword to a mainstream fundraising model being used for business and social causes. In less than five years, crowdfunding has attracted more than ten mission contributors pledging close to $5 billion, funding more than 200,000 individual projects. Numbers like these make crowdfunding an attractive option for first-time entrepreneurs and established businesses alike. But what, exactly, does it take to successfully fund a project. This 3-hour seminar will focus on "rewards-based" funding models, review successful crowdfunding campaigns, explore several of the most popular crowdfunding sites and discuss strategies to launching a campaign for your cause or business. A brief discussion of equity crowd funding will be presented.
